It could be the pressure balance mechanism the mixing valve.Thats what it sounds like to me.Why does my bath tub run out of water in one minute but my sink has it only five feet away?

do you mean hot water? i wish i knew the answer to this, b/c it happens in my house too. i have to run the cold water in the sink to finish my shower, cuz the hot runs out so quickly. :(
